1879 3CN PR67 ★ NGC. CAC. The deeply mirrored fields of this nearly immaculate specimen show moderate cameo contrast against the frosty devices, but apparently not enough to earn the designation from NGC. It is difficult to locate any handling marks on this Superb Gem, even with the aid of a loupe. This brilliant specimen is one of only 3,200 proofs struck in a year when business strikes numbered a relatively low 38,000 pieces.
