1879 Three Cent Nickel
PR67+ Deep Cameo, Only One Graded
1879 3CN PR67+ Deep Cameo PCGS. This midseries 1879 proof
three cent nickel is the sole finest certified example of the issue
with the Deep Cameo designation. More surprisingly, it is the only
Deep Cameo certified by PCGS in any proof grade. The no-questions
deep contrast is created via deeply frosted devices complementing
fields that are light gray to white and fully reflective
throughout. Some die lapping on the reverse is always seen, and the
strike is close to full, save for trifling weakness at the top of
two of the three columns in the III denomination. Population: 1 in
