1879 3CN PR67 NGC. Following the unusually popular proof-only issue of 1878, the 1879 three cent nickel had a total production of 3,200 specimens, the highest figure to that time. The delicate blue and violet toning that graces the carefully preserved surfaces offers subtle iridescence as well.
