    Description

Lofty PR68 Cameo 1882 Three Cent Nickel None Certified Finer by Either Service

1882 3CN PR68 Cameo PCGS. A razor-sharp representative with nicely frosted motifs and barely a whisper of yellow-gold color. A short lintmark (as made) is noted at 1:30 on the obverse, mentioned as a pedigree marker since the immaculate surfaces reveal no post-strike imperfections. Despite the uncharacteristically high mintage of the prior year, in 1882 there was a combined proof and business strike production of only 25,300 pieces. This piece is tied with two others as the finest certified by PCGS, although that service has encapsulated a solitary Deep Cameo specimen as PR67.
    From the Bruce Scher #1 All-Time PCGS Registry Set.(#83778) (Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 2765, PCGS# 83778)
