    Description

    1882 Three Cent Nickel, PR68
    None Finer at PCGS

1882 3CN PR68 PCGS. Margins of golden-yellow surround pale lavender-pink interiors on this sumptuous Superb Gem proof late-date three cent nickel, struck to the extent of only 3,100 proofs complementing a meager business-strike emission of 22,200 coins. The bold strike and pristine preservation, along with the beautiful patina, all contribute to the top-shelf eye appeal. This example appears to be the first Breen enumerates in the Proof Encyclopedia: "First die. Clear 2, no trace of filling anywhere within the digit." Population: 7 in 68, 0 finer (12/14).(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2764, PCGS# 3778)
