Flawless Preservation
1883 3CN PR68 PCGS. Proof production outpaced the
manufacture of circulation strikes for the first time in 1883. This
is one of 6,609 proofs struck, while only 4,000 three cent nickels
were made for commercial purposes. The coin is essentially flawless
with noticeable field reflectivity and partial contrast. Hints of
pale gold and powder-blue color grace the nickel-gray surfaces and
confirm the originality of this impeccable Superb Gem. Population:
