1883 3CN Three Cent Nickel PR67 Cameo NGC. CAC. The 1883 proof set was interesting due not only because of the two silver dollar designs -- Morgan and Trade -- but because three types of five cent nickel, and one three cent nickel, were produced as well. (Not all sets contained all types.) This Superb Gem Cameo three cent nickel is untoned and shows bold contrast over highly reflective surfaces, unusually so for the issue. Census: 18 in 67 (2 in 67 ★ )Cameo, 5 finer (6/12).
