Description

1884 Three Cent Nickel, PR66 Deep Cameo
One of Two Examples in This Format

1884 3CN PR66 Deep Cameo PCGS. Nearly 4,000 proof three cent nickel pieces were minted in 1884, and more than 1,400 examples have been certified by PCGS. Merely two specimens have been designated Deep Cameo by that service, this Premium Gem and a PR67 (3/16). Both sides are clearly contrasted with only hints of blue and gold-rose color in the fields. A small semicircular planchet depression on Liberty's cheek does not distract.
