Description

1884 Three Cent Nickel, PR68 Cameo
Pale Toning, Deeply Reflective Fields

1884 3CN PR68 Cameo NGC. A relatively large number of survivors are known from the nearly 4,000-piece mintage of 1884 three cent nickels. While extant Cameos are fewer in number, they can still be located with some searching in PR63 to PR65. Examples in the lofty grade of PR68 Cameo, however, are quite elusive. This lightly toned specimen exhibits a full strike and virtually pristine surfaces with pronounced field-motif contrast. Census: 4 in 68 Cameo, 0 finer (12/13).
