Description
Superb Gem Proof 1887/6 Three Cent Nickel
1887/6 3CN PR67 PCGS. CAC. Ex: J E U. From a proof mintage of 2,960 pieces, the 1887/6 three cent nickel enjoys great popularity as a "naked eye" overdate. The present coin is a virtually unimprovable specimen, with a sharp strike and unblemished fields. Light shades of lilac toning grace the surfaces and add to the already considerable eye appeal. Only seven coins have been certified at the Superb Gem level by the two leading grading services combined, with none finer (3/09).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 276A, PCGS# 3784, Greysheet# 2865)
