Description

1855 Three Cent Silver, PR64
Scarce Type Two Proof

1855 3CS PR64 PCGS. An unknown but small number of proofs were struck in 1855. Probably somewhere around 50 pieces are extant today. Only 50 pieces have been certified in all grades and with all degrees of contrast when the population data from both services are combined (12/12). This is a brightly reflective example, whose proof fields are evident even through the deep, speckled blue, violet, and rose toning that covers each side. The strike is completely brought up, a feature that is generally only found on proof strikes. Population: 4 in 64, 6 finer (12/12).(Registry values: N4719)
