Description

1858 Three Cent Silver, PR64
Popular Type Two Date

1858 3CS PR64 PCGS. The proof 1858 is a popular type coin in the three cent silver series. This was the last year of the briefly produced Type Two design, and the first year that proofs were struck by the Mint in large, commercial quantities. As a result, the 1858 is the logical choice for a proof Type Two. This is a mostly brilliant example that shows a slight accent of golden around the margins. The fields are deeply reflective, as one would expect, and the strike is fully brought up throughout. Population: 34 in 64, 30 finer (1/11).(Registry values: N2998)
