Description
1858 Three Cent Silver, PR64
Attractive Type Two Proof
1858 3CS PR64 PCGS. The familiar glimmers of reflectivity in
the fields confirm the proof status of this final-year Type Two
three cent silver piece. The 1858 is arguably the most collectible
proof Type Two issue, although examples are nonetheless scarce in
all grades with an estimated survivorship of just 100 or so pieces.
This piece is sharply struck, although some excessive die polishing
is evident along portions of the star border. Elements of sea-green
and lilac toning grace each, producing strong visual
appeal.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27C5, PCGS# 3705, GSID# 3661)
