Well-Contrasted 1859 Three Cent Silver
Gem Cameo Proof

1859 3CS PR65 Cameo NGC. The recorded mintage was 800 proofs in this second year that the Mint began publicly advertising proof sets for sale. This Gem proof example is one of only three certified as Cameo, with two finer at NGC (8/10). Considerable field-device contrast appears on both sides, despite the moderate-intensity pinkish-gold toning. Some clash marks appear in the central reverse.(Registry values: N1793)
