Description

1859 Three Cent Silver, PR66
Sharp and Pleasantly Toned

1859 3CS PR66 PCGS. An exemplary Premium Gem proof, this 1859 three cent silver piece showcases a full strike through the olive branch, arrows, and central shield lines. The recesses of the large C on the reverse show no obvious die lapping, and the coin's eye appeal is strong as a result. Moreover, lovely sea-green, lavender, and light golden toning paints the mirrored fields. The 1859 proof is rarely seen this fine, from a reported mintage of 800 pieces. Population: 15 in 66 (1 in 66+), 2 finer (8/25).(Registry values: N2998)
