Description

1863/2 Three Cent Silver, PR65
Attractive Toning

1863/2 3CS PR65 PCGS. CAC. Ex: Texas Trimes. This is the so-called 1863/2 overdate, listed in the Guide Book and authenticated by PCGS, but not recognized by NGC. All four date numerals show minute doubling at their bases; this is no doubt the suspected overdate reported by Walter Breen. This Gem example displays full definition of the motifs and deep mirroring in the fields. Aquamarine and violet interiors yield to lighter mint and champagne peripheries. Population: 4 in 65, 3 finer (6/15).(Registry values: P3)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22ZP, PCGS# 3713, Greysheet# 3709)

Weight: 0.75 grams

Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
