1863/2 3CS PR65 PCGS Secure. CAC. The three cent silver was only produced in proof format in 1863, with a small mintage of 460 pieces. Some of the coins (including this piece) show an artifact below the final digit in the date which has traditionally been called a 2, but may actually be a 3. This delightful Gem exhibits sharply detailed design elements throughout. The well-preserved surfaces include deeply mirrored fields, under shades of cerulean-blue and jade-gold toning. Population: 8 in 65, 4 finer (11/18).(Registry values: P3)
