Description

Very Rare Cameo PR66 1865 Three Cent Silver
A Low Total-Mintage Issue

1865 3CS Three Cent Silver PR66 Deep Cameo PCGS. Only marginally scarcer as a proof, the real rarity of the 1865 three cent silver lies in its unavailability in any other format. Business strikes are rarely encountered because of the extremely low mintage of only 8,000 pieces. As with most of the coins in this run of proof sets, this is an exceptional and stunning example. The surfaces are mostly brilliant and the devices nicely frosted, providing strong contrast on each side. The strike is complete on both obverse and reverse, never a given on three cent silver pieces. Population: 2 in 66 Deep Cameo, 0 finer (8/10).
