Description

1866 3CS PR66 PCGS. Although this was the highest-mintage of the post-Civil War issues, high-grade circulation strikes are rare, putting added pressure on comparable proofs. The star and shield are ice-blue with golden color around. The reverse is mostly dusky ivory-gray with glints of russet patina. Flashy and nearly without fault. Wonderful eye appeal. Population: 19 in 66, 2 finer (11/17).(Registry values: N1793)
