1869/'8' Three Cent Silver, PR65
Colorful Specimen
1869/8 3CS PR65 NGC. This variety no longer appears in NGC's
Census Report, but an underlying feature -- at one time
theorized to be an overdate -- appears in the space between loop
and ball on the 9 in the date. The obverse shows a progression from
outer green to blue and lavender, while the reverse has pale gold
at the upper zone with bands of orange, peach, crimson-violet, and
