1870 Three Cent Silver, PR63
Gold CAC Sticker, Concentric Toning

1870 3CS PR63 PCGS. Gold CAC. Three cent silver pieces struck from the late 1860s on were coined to pay off odd amounts of gold purchases or silver deposits. Only 3,000 circulation strikes were produced in 1870 plus 1,000 proofs. This gorgeous Type Three proof offers pale bands of cobalt-blue, violet, and golden toning that progress inward from the margins, ceding to brilliant frosted centers. The surfaces are exceptionally clean for the assigned grade. The obverse is strongly contrasted, though the reverse is less so.(Registry values: N991)
