Wonderful 1871 Silver Three Cent, PR65 Cameo
1871 3CS PR65 Cameo NGC. A fully brilliant, untoned Gem with excellent contrast and outstanding eye appeal. This lovely proof survives from a mintage of 960 coins. Breen described three different obverse dies in his Proof Encyclopedia. This pieces appears to be from the third obverse with the 7 and 1 slightly separated, the star point over the right edge of the 8, and horizontal striae along the left border.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27CG, PCGS# 83722, GSID# 3701)
