Description

1872 Three Cent Silver, PR64
Low-Mintage Date

1872 3CS PR64 PCGS. Three cent silver production totaled just 1,000 business strikes and 950 proofs in 1872. The circulation-strike mintage is the lowest in the series by 2,000 coins, placing added demand on the equally limited number of proofs. Lilac-gray centers blend with shades of blue, purple, olive-green, and russet, providing marvelous eye appeal and only limiting field reflectivity to a small degree. The surfaces are moderately contrasted with a few signs of trivial contact.
