Description

1872 Three Cent Silver, PR66 Cameo
Well-Preserved and Attractively Toned

1872 3CS PR66 Cameo PCGS. The total mintage of 1,950 coins for this date were almost equally divided between 950 proofs and 1,000 business strikes. The proofs have survived in much greater numbers than their business strike counterparts, causing them to be preferred by type collectors. This is an attractive and conditionally rare specimen, sharply struck except for a few of the reverse peripheral stars, with deeply reflective fields and lovely apple-green and russet-gold toning. Population: 8 in 66 Cameo, 2 finer (7/14).(Registry values: N1793)
