Description

1873 Three Cent Silver, PR66
Beautifully Toned and Well Struck

1873 3CS Closed 3 PR66 PCGS. Three cent silver pieces served little commercial purpose after the Civil War, and only token quantities were struck through 1872. The 1873 is a proof-only issue with a mintage of 600 coins. This Premium Gem example displays beautiful multicolor toning throughout glimmering fields and sharp, softly frosted design elements. Eye appeal is excellent. All 1873 proof silver three cents have the Closed 3 logotype in the date. Population: 23 in 66 (5 in 66+), 7 finer (6/25).(Registry values: N1793)
