Description
1873 Three Cent Silver, PR66+
Vibrant Colors
1873 3CS Closed 3 PR66+ PCGS. The 1873 proof-only issue had
a tiny production of just 600 coins, as the silver series had run
its course and this was the final mintage. Examples finer than MS65
are rare, and PCGS reports only seven finer than this Premium Gem
in non-Cameo (4/25). Well-struck with sharp details and satiny
devices, the fields are colorfully reflective and produce appealing
contrast. Intense shades of cobalt-blue, deep-plum and golden-amber
are blended throughout both sides ceding to occasional flashes of
brilliant silver.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27CJ, PCGS# 3724, GSID# 3706)
