Description
1873 Three Cent Silver, PR64
Green-Label Holder
Undesignated Cameo Proof
1873 3CS PR64 PCGS. CAC. This impressive final-year three
cent silver piece, a proof-only issue, is housed in a green-label
PCGS holder, before that service began recognized Cameo and Deep
Cameo proofs. For that reason, there is no designation. However,
make no mistake formulating your bid, for this piece is an
impressive Choice Cameo proof, and a borderline deep cameo example.
Both sides are fully brilliant and untoned, save for a crescent of
delicate gold at the left obverse border. Although PCGS has
certified 70 finer proofs, they have only 19 finer Cameo proofs,
and just three finer Deep Cameo proofs (12/13).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27CJ, PCGS# 3724, GSID# 3706)
