1873 Silver Three Cent Piece, PR66
Final Proof-Only Mintage

1873 3CS PR66 NGC. The silver three cent piece was discontinued after 1873, when a final proof-only mintage of 600 specimens was accomplished. All the coins were struck early in the year, as evidenced by the Closed 3 in the date. This delightful Premium Gem is sharply detailed and well-preserved, with deeply reflective fields and attractive shades of greenish-gold and powder-blue toning. Census: 27 in 66 (1 in 66+, 1 in 66 ★ ), 7 finer (4/16).
