Description

1886 PR 64 NGC. As a date, the proof 1886 is a rather unexceptional issue in a series filled with extraordinarily rare, low mintage dates. Still, only 142 proofs were produced, and it has been estimated that only 40-45 pieces may exist today. Even fewer have survived in this high grade, and with the added cameo attraction. Deeply contrasted on each side, the frosty devices display well against the mirrored fields. There are a few stray hairlines in the fields and a couple of tiny marks that prevent this coin from grading even higher.
