    Description

1873 Trade Dollar, Sharp PR64 Cameo
    First Year of the Type

1873 T$1 PR64 Cameo NGC. Ex: Pacific Rim Collection. The surfaces on this untoned near-Gem proof provide excellent silver-on-black contrast when the coin is tilted just so, well within the Cameo designation. The proof strike is quite sharp, and no contact marks are seen. The usually given proof mintage of 865 pieces comes from "Mr. 1873," Harry X Boosel, in his monograph 1873-1873. First-year-of-type collectors would do well to pay attention to this attractive coin. Census: 14 in 64 Cameo, 4 finer (3/15).(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27YJ, PCGS# 87053)

    Weight: 27.20 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper

Thanks to Heritage I realized a handsome profit for my coin submissions and intend to send most of the remainder of my collection to Heritage Auction Galleries for future auctions.
