Description

1876 Trade Dollar, PR64+ Deep Cameo
Sole Finest Deep Cameo at PCGS

1876 T$1 PR64+ Deep Cameo PCGS. CAC. Type One Obverse, Type Two Reverse. The ribbon ends point left, and no berry exists beneath the eagle's claw. This is a brilliant, silver-mirrored borderline Gem proof, with glassy-smooth fields and richly frosted devices. Bold white-on-black contrast exists when viewed at an angle. Not all 1876 proofs are well-struck, but this example is mostly sharp throughout both sides -- nominal weakness at stars 5 and 6 and on a few upper hair strands preclude a full strike. Eye appeal is exceptional, as confirmed by the PCGS Plus designation and CAC endorsement. No Deep Cameo proof is finer at PCGS. Population: 7 in 64 (1 in 64+) Deep Cameo, 0 finer. CAC: 3 in 64, 0 finer (9/19).(Registry values: P2)
