1877 Trade Dollar, PR65
Pleasingly Toned

1877 T$1 PR65 NGC. Except for the unofficial strikings of 1884 and 1885 this date saw the lowest proof mintage of the Trade dollar series, at a mere 510 pieces. This fully struck Gem example displays sharply reflective fields and an attractive, variegated array of pastel coloration across both sides. A faint reeding mark to the left of star 13 is the only minor surface flaw detected with the aid of a standard loupe. Census: 15 in 65 (1 in 65+, 1 in 65 ), 9 finer (10/14).(Registry values: N4719)
