Description

Gem Proof 1877 Trade Dollar
Delightful Iridescent Toning

1877 T$1 PR65 PCGS. CAC. The 1877 Trade dollar issue had the lowest proof mintage in the entire series, and Gem or higher-grade survivors are expectedly rare, although overall not particularly more or less so than the 1875 or 1877. The most available Gem proof Trade dollars are the proof-only issues that would end the series. This Gem 1877 boasts delightful iridescent toning in shades of aqua, pink, and sunset-orange. A loupe reveals a full strike and bold eye appeal, along with a few minor field hairlines that are undistracting and diminish the appeal not a whit. Population: 16 in 65, 5 finer (6/12).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27YN, PCGS# 7057, Greysheet# 7401)

Weight: 27.22 grams
