Near-Gem Proof 1879 Trade Dollar
1879 T$1 PR64 PCGS. The 1879, first of the Trade dollar proof-only issues that wrap up the series, was produced to the extent of 1,541 coins, but most survivors today average PR62-PR63. This near-Gem proof boasts bright silver-white surfaces with considerable field-device contrast, even though it is unnoted on the holder.
