Description
Toned Proof 1879 Trade Dollar, PR64
1879 T$1 PR64 PCGS. The second proof-only issue in the series, the 1879 had the second highest mintage of any proof trade dollar with a production of 1,541 coins. This near-Gem proof has deep blue and iridescent toning on both sides, with fully mirrored fields beneath. Apparent cameo contrast is also evident, although the toning prevents such a designation by the grading service. From The Beau Clerc Collection.(Registry values: N2998)
