1879 Trade Dollar, PR66+ Cameo CAC
In-Demand, Proof-Only Issue

1879 T$1 PR66+ Cameo PCGS. CAC. The Philadelphia Mint struck a substantial proof-only mintage of 1,541 Trade dollars in 1879, but the issue is still rare at the PR66 grade level, with the Cameo designation, and finer coins are even more elusive. This Plus-graded Premium Gem proof example exhibits razor-sharp definition on all design elements and the deeply mirrored fields contrast boldly with the richly frosted devices to create an intense cameo effect when the coin is tilted in the light. The impeccably preserved surfaces are free of mentionable distractions and overall eye appeal is outstanding. The high quality within the grade is confirmed by CAC. Population: 13 in 66 (2 in 66+) Cameo, 12 finer. CAC: 4 in 66, 9 finer (12/25).(Registry values: N4719)
