Description

Pleasing, Well-Struck 1880 Trade Dollar
PR64 Cameo

1880 T$1 PR64 Cameo PCGS. A thin ring of amber-gold encircles the margins of this otherwise silver-white near-Gem proof Trade dollar. The strike and considerable field-device contrast are pleasing and add much to the good eye appeal. The 1880 Trade dollars were among the proof-only issues from 1879 through 1883 that would ring down the final curtain on the series, while the fabulous 1884 and 1885 proofs were clandestine concoctions. Population: 45 in 64 Cameo, 29 finer (6/10).(Registry values: N2998)
