    Description

    1880 Trade Dollar, PR64
    Brilliant Surfaces, Proof-Only Issue

1880 T$1 PR64 NGC. Speculators and collectors helped boost the proof-only mintage of 1880 proof Trade dollars to an unprecedented level of 1,987 pieces. Many high-grade pieces were preserved as a result. This brilliant example is fully white with significant contrast between flashy-mirrored fields and smoothly frosted devices. A speckling of foggy-white flecks has only a minor affect on the mirrored fields, while the strike is suitably sharp throughout both sides.
