1880 Trade Dollar, PR67
Gorgeous Concentric Toning
1880 T$1 PR67 NGC. CAC. The fields on each side of this
Superb Gem proof 1880 Trade dollar are immensely reflective, but
there is little contrast between the fields and devices;
notwithstanding, this coin exhibits remarkable aesthetic appeal.
The surfaces are virtually unmarked on either side. Concentric
patina is moderately deep but fails to defeat the intense mirrored
effect. Medium blue in the interiors cedes to gold, jade, pink, and
cobalt near the rims, more perceptibly on the reverse. A bit of
haze that may appear on the lower reverse is on the slab, not the
coin. Some strike bluntness appears on Liberty's head and several
of the obverse peripheral stars, but this is a gorgeously toned
