1882 Trade Dollar, PR65 Deep Cameo
Sharp and Starkly Contrasted

1882 T$1 PR65 Deep Cameo PCGS. The 1882 Trade dollar is a popular type coin, struck only in proof format and yet relatively plentiful overall. However, most examples show hairlines, cleaning, or lack appreciable cameo contrast. This Gem Deep Cameo delivers excellent visual appeal. The strike is razor-sharp throughout the devices, illuminated by softly frosted luster. The fields exhibit liquidlike reflectivity that contrasts boldly with the relief elements, providing ample cameo effect that the fully brilliant surfaces allow the viewer to appreciate. On the obverse are a few microscopic pepper specks of bluish toning that serve as pedigree markers. A rarity this fine. Population: 16 in 65 Deep Cameo, 12 finer (10/21).(Registry values: P1)
