Description

1882 Trade Dollar, PR67 Ultra Cameo
Impressive Cameo Contrast

1882 T$1 PR67 Ultra Cameo NGC. Three minor die varieties are recorded for the 1882 Trade dollars, with the variety seen here having the crossbar of the 4 in 420 fragmented and virtually nonexistent at the right. A second reverse has minute die doubling at the lower portion, and a third die has incomplete leg feathers.
The typical 1882 Trade dollar has a flat head and flat stars at the upper obverse, but this piece is atypical, having bold detail at those locations. Both sides are fully brilliant with deep mirrored fields and highly lustrous devices. Toning is absent on either side. This piece presents amazing eye appeal and will undoubtedly serve as a showpiece in a high-grade collection. Census: 4 in 67 Ultra Cameo, 1 finer (3/11).
