Later Proof-Only Date
1883 T$1 PR63 PCGS. As is the case with all Philadelphia
dates between 1878 and 1885, the 1883 is proof-only. The mintage
was just 979 pieces, and specimens are always in demand. The
present coin is an attractive Select example, with sharply
detailed, frosty design elements that contrast boldly with the
deeply mirrored fields. Minor field hairlines preclude a higher
