1883 Trade Dollar, PR64 Cameo
Last of the Proof-Only Dates
1883 T$1 PR64 Cameo NGC. The limited production of proofs in
1883 represents the final collectible date in the Trade dollar
series. This is a remarkably preserved example that is deeply
mirrored fields that noticeably contrast against the frosted
devices. Rose-gray patina is deeper around the margins with
brilliant or nearly brilliant centers. The few contact marks that
are present in the fields are largely inconspicuous and overwhelmed
by the depth of mirroring. Census: 27 in 64 Cameo (1 in 64+, 1 in
64 ★ ), 46 finer (7/16).From the Dr. Bruce Mesara Collection.(Registry values: N2998)
