Description

Silver-White PR62 1875 Twenty Cent Piece

1875 20C PR62 PCGS. Numismatic riddle: What do the twenty cent piece and the Susan B. Anthony dollar have in common? They both had short lives because in appearance and size they were too easily confused with a quarter. The 1875 has the highest mintage of the four proof twenty cent issues, although the 1878 seems to have been saved in slightly greater numbers. This piece displays silver-white surfaces with near-Cameo contrast, and only the numerous small contact marks appearing under a loupe appear to keep the piece from an even finer grade (8/08).(Registry values: N1793)
