1876 Twenty Cent, PR63 Cameo
Attractive Crescent Border Toning

1876 20C PR63 Cameo PCGS. BF-1, Low R.4. This is a lovely Select Cameo example of this Centennial proof issue, showing a sharp strike and appreciable contrast on the mostly brilliant surfaces. Both the obverse and reverse display attractive crescent toning along the upper margin (obverse) and lower border (reverse). Rich shades of blue, russet, and gold complement the mirrored fields. Struck from dies that also produced circulation strikes, the proofs are more available than circulation strikes in high grades.
