1876 20C PR65 NGC. The second-year proof mintage of the twenty cent piece was less than half that of the first year--2,790 coins for the 1875 versus 1,260 for the 1876--and not even a Centennial Celebration could fan interest in the loathed denomination, which frequently cheated users out of a nickel. This Gem 1876 will spark fonder memories today, with its pristine, well-contrasted surfaces and attractive silver centers ringed with iridescence.
