1877 Twenty Cent, PR60
Proof-Only Issue
1877 20C PR60 NGC. BF-1, R.3. The 1877 is the rarer of the
two proof-only dates from the twenty cent series, with just 510
pieces produced. As the series was only struck for three years,
examples such as this PR60 are seldom seen and highly sought after.
This fully struck proof exhibits luminously layered devices on
mostly brilliant fields that show faint splashes of champagne-gold
on the bottom of the obverse. A loupe reveals a few tiny planchet
flaws, with moderate hairlines that limit the grade.(Registry values: N2998)From The Brittany Legacy Collection, Part II.
