1877 Twenty Cent Piece, PR62 Cameo
    Proof-Only Series Key Issue

1877 20C PR62 Cameo PCGS. CAC. BF-1, R.3. One of two proof-only issues in the short-lived series, the 1877 proofs are highly prized among specialists and scarcer overall than the 1878 proofs. Just 510 proofs were struck, and nearly a third of those may have been melted upon abolishment of the denomination. This is a brilliant example with strong cameo contrast. Faint hairlines limit the numeric grade, but the eye appeal is far above average as confirmed by its CAC endorsement. Population: 6 in 62 Cameo, 67 finer. CAC: 2 in 62, 23 finer (2/19).(Registry values: N2998)
