Description

Lovely 1877 Twenty Cent Piece, PR66

1877 20C PR66 NGC. The first of two proof-only issues in the four-year twenty-cent denomination, this Premium Gem proof has fully mirrored fields and lustrous devices, deserving of a Cameo designation except of the thick and beautiful obverse toning. Light silvery-gold at the center has a frame of violet, blue, and heather toning. The reverse is much lighter, with bright silver at the center, framed in gold and iridescent toning. Here is a splendid opportunity to add to a 19th century type collection of silver coins. Census: 19 in 66, 3 finer (7/10).(Registry values: N4719)
