1878 20C PR64 PCGS. BF-1, R.3. Only one die pair was used for this issue, the final date in the twenty cent series. Coinage amounted to 600 proofs. This Choice representative displays sharp, satiny devices with a hint of cameo contrast. The fields are deeply mirrored and flashy. Untoned in the centers, this proof type coin displays rich amber and sea-green border hues. PCGS reports only 43 numerically finer examples, plus two examples graded 64+ (12/25).
